Younger son had a couple of friends to sleep over last night, so I tucked myself quietly away and sorted through some more sale items. I was given lots of old photographs, and have been wondering how to use them. I decided to make up some little button cards to sell. I like the way they turned out. There were a few I couldn't bear to cover up, however (dated 1929):
And this one:
This morning, delivered C's friends home and carried on to a contemporary craft fair in nearby Oundle. My friend Lucy had a stand there.
Lucy's stall looked beautiful.
She made everything here. These pin pots are very sweet:
And I loved the patriotic brooches. Her work is so beautifully finished....
Time for coffee and flapjack before I left:
And yes, I made a small purchase from Lucy. I just could not resist it.
Lovely, colourful post! Especially love the little crochet topped stool xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Isn't the stool brilliant. Resistance was futile!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it's gone to such a lovely home! X
ReplyDeleteI really like your button cards - what a good idea. Your friends stall is full of beautiful handmade items and I think I would have found it hard to resist the crochet stool had I been there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I have just found your lovely blog and am now a follower.
ReplyDeleteIm not surprised you treated yourself at the craft fair, it all looks lovely!

Hi, Your friend's stall looked great at the Fair in Oundle - a place I know well - I used to work as a volunteer there in the Oxfam shop. I have made a note in my diary of your sale at Elton on the 7th and hope to come for a visit. Really good luck with it - you have great ideas. I simply love your blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, and I'd be really pleased to meet you. What a coincidence that you worked in the Oundle Oxfam, too. I am regular there, as you might imagine!
