Sunday sketch

All of the family were out today, so I had time to do a small water colour sketch that I've been thinking about for a while now. The title of this should really be 'all the dresses I have ever owned or dreamed of owning.' Some of them are based on classic Horrocks designs and I've only seen them in museums or in my book about the Horrocks label.
I love painting pictures of dresses at the moment. There might be a few more on the way....

  3. Love them all and you are very talented. I had a dress like bottom right once years ago it was very pretty but I 've no idea what happened to it. Hope we get lots of summer dress wearing weather this year.

    1. Hi Karen, when I was a teenager you could still get 50s dresses in jumble sales, or at least very cheaply in second hand shops. Lots of people wore them at uni, in winter with tights and cardigans. They looked brilliant. I wonder what happened to all of those dresses! At least they had a second outing I suppose...

  7. Hello, from one dress crazy gal to another! Wonderful sketches and I am thinking I would simply LOVE to own any of these pretty dresses..(maybe I do) Funny my OH and I were only saying recently how 'poorly' dressed woman can seem to dress.....they almost always seem to orb into there OH's jeans and T shirts, some how! hehe...We know differently though! LOVED your other post very much too...Such a beautiful picture post card village! I smiled about the clotted cream and can just imagine the American tourist explaining this....Happy days! with hugs Maria x
