Just one of those days...

I enjoyed the sale yesterday, but I didn't sell very much. It was just one of those days. I haven't had a sale like that for a really long time, and sometimes you just have to accept  that your stock isn't right.

The event I was at was more of a craft fair, I was the only vintage stand (phone snap below).

My best sellers were old saucers for 30p each :) But I did cover the cost of my pitch with a little bit on top too, so it could have been worse. And I was sitting next to my friends Lucy and Kate, so there was plenty of time for copious cups of tea and a slice of this unbelievably good home baked Battenburg cake.

But I certainly won't be giving up the day job! Talking of which, I have an interview with artist Kirsty Elson in the latest issue of LandScape magazine. Kirsty's work is so popular at the moment, and she was a genuinely lovely interviewee. I know some of my blog readers are fans of Kirsty's work, so I thought you might like to know.

It's a pretty issue of LandScape.

A very gentle read...

  1. How disappointing - seeing the photo of the stall I can't think why. I wanted everything. I particularly liked the blue/white jugs and the wooden pull along horse.

    1. Thank you :) Think vintage fairs are better for me for selling, sometimes mixing it up with new stuff doesn't always work.

  2. Sorry to hear you did not sell as much as you wanted to. I had the sameat the Swan Market in Rotterdam last September. I did not sell much, but I had a lovely day, meeting lots of nice people.

Lucky you to be a journalist and meeting such interesting people!

    Happy week,

    1. Hi Madelief, yes I met some lovely people yesterday too, and they always enjoy reminiscing about things they had in the past which is nice. I can't imagine how anyone would not buy your stuff though!
I do love my job, despite all the deadlines. x

  3. How disappointing, I guess it's really hard sometimes to judge the kind of shoppers you might get and/or whether your kind of produce is going to be the theme - the thing is that probably half the people that saw your things weren't looking for that kind of stuff at the time but are probably kicking themselves for not snapping up what they saw at the time. Hope you have better success next time.

    1. Hi Claire, yes, lots of work, but I am doing another one (weather permitting) on May 5th, which is usually excellent for me, so at least I know that some of my stuff is all ready to go again! Thanks for stopping by!
