A borrowed post

I was going to do a quilt update post today, but it's so grey and wet outside that the photos would not work. So here are a few flowers and blue skies from this time last year. I hope it's sunny where you are....

Roses from an open garden weekend. There are three of these open gardens coming up in June so I will be going along to some of those.

The white clematis are out again and covering our old plum tree, but the petals have been battered by the torrential rain.

Hopefully soon we will be able to sit in these again.

And enjoy blue skies....

  3. Rain, rain and more rain is all we seem to be getting at the moment. At least its doing the garden some good. The lupins are adorable in your picture.

    1. Thank you. I bought them at a roadside stall last year for £2 and they were spectacular!

  5. I love your lupins. Grey and drizzling here too so no excuse not to continue with huge clear out. Hope the sun shines for you tomorrow as it will be lovely to see your quilt.

    1. Hi Karen, yes we used last weekend's downpours as excuse to clear out the garage and take all the rubbish to the tip. Very satisfying x

  8. Oh lovely delphs - for the first time EVER I have grown some that have not been eaten by slugs (grown in tin tubs which might be the way to go for me in future). Sadly the lupins did not survive more than 24 hours after being planted out....have ideas would be gratefully received. Happy gardening and I hope for some sun over the weekend
    Best wishes

    1. Hi Jenny, my delphs are looking healthier this year, although several have the dreaded black spot which killed almost all of them last year. They do seem very fragile. As for the lupins, I can't claim any credit for them. They were for sale outside a house in my parents' village last summer. Just the most amazing ones I've ever seen. Yes, here's hoping for a sunnier weekend.
