Saturday matters

I am trying to ignore the fact that there are heaps of jumble and table top sales going on today: my mission is to stay home and finish off some of my makes and projects for my sale in May. First off is my bear in a basket. I bought the basket a couple of months ago, and I've used an old linen sheet and some fabric scraps to recover the mattress and make some fresh bedding for this old bear. He looks pretty snug in there...

Somehow I manage to forget how to thread my machine every single time I use it. I drive myself nuts! But I got there in the end.

A bit of sustenance doesn't go amiss ;)

This week has brought a fine crop of reading matter under the Streetcomber radar. This is my Mothers Day treat ...

It is on sale in newsagents, a 'bookazine' from Country Living. I allowed myself a little preview last night, and it's a beautiful thing, amazing design, well done Country Living team. Just one little quibble: it costs £9.99, and I have seen a fairly large proportion of the homes in my monthly Country Living already. I was very happy to revisit them, but perhaps the ratio was a little high for this price? Some very inspiring and lush homes, however.

Then, there was more magazine goodness in the post this week. My sister in law has just spent a week in Sweden, and she bought two magazines back for me. Beautiful....

And this morning, another surprise. I won two tickets to the Country Living fair in an online competition (never done one of those before). I am pleased! Might well pop along next week.

  2. Yes, it's really good to get a fresh perspective, although I do love home grown magazines too.
